İstanbul’s First-Ever Ecofest Kicks Off On June 8 And Runs For 3 Days.
EcoFest Istanbul, which will be promoted at a press conference on World Environment Day, June 5, is Turkey’s first large-scale international environment festival. Offering a wide range of creative events, the 3-day festival will be hosting The Vegetable Orchestra, a Viennese group that makes music with instruments fashioned from vegetables, Gil Bohadana, who plays musical instruments he makes from waste materials, the body percussion ensemble KeKeÇa, alternative musical group BaBa Zula, and Adam Rudolph’s Go Organic Orchestra. Joined by MindBody Istanbul, the most comprehensive international yoga and pilates organization, the festival is welcoming 16 world-famous masters in the field. With workshops by firms and representatives from numerous ecology-related sectors and disciplines such as energy, textiles, cosmetics, construction, architecture and the automotive industry, the festival will also offer fashion shows with ecology-themed creations. The festival, whose purpose is to acquaint today’s younger generation with basic environmental concepts, is aimed at children, young people and families.
