Interest is intensifying in the Eastern Mediterranean International Tourism and Travel Fair (EMITT), now in its 16th year with official Turkish Airlines transportation sponsorship. The world’s fifth largest tourism fair, EMITT was open only to professionals on the first day. Open to the public on the two succeeding days, the fair welcomed some 71,000 visitors. Turkish Airlines’ CEO Temel Kotil, Ph. D.,was one of a total 4,500 tourism professionals from 62 countries who took part. The fair, which brought together tourism professionals from Turkey and around the world, was also a scene of numerous cooperations and agreements. EMITT, which creates an environment for forging cooperations to tap Turkey’s tourism potential, offers holiday makers exciting activities unique to their regions, bargain holiday opportunities, prize draws and other surprises. By the time the fair ended the number of visitors had shown a 12 percent increase over last year’s numbers.
