Overbooking
1. What is Overbooking?
In the airline industry, passengers do not always present themselves for check in even though they have a confirmed reservation on a flight, for many different personal reasons. In order to minimise the effect of these "no-shows", therefore, and to allow as many passengers as possible to travel on their requested flight, most major airlines overbook their flights.
Carriers try their best to provide seats for all confirmed reservations made, but still there is a slight chance that a seat will not be available on a flight for which a person has a confirmed reservation. In such cases we offer denied boarding compensation and services for our passengers. Please refer to the counters and sales offices for further details.
