City Guide : DublinPlaced at the Northwest of Europe, Ireland is an island surrounded by many islands and separated from Britain by the Irish Sea. Standing as the largest city of the island, Dublin is the capital of the Republic of Ireland. It overlooks Dublin Bay at the mouth of Liffey River. By its population, it is one of the fastest growing cities of Europe. The city is the administrative, economic and cultural hearth of Ireland. Dublin is world famous as a city of literature and writers. Being the mother land of famous musicians, the capital is the party capital of Europe.

Dublin evokes ancient civilization. Christ Church Cathedral is the oldest building and the most significant landmark of Dublin. Built in 1030, the church is home to treasuries of genuine manuscripts, historical artifacts and silverwares. Drimnagh Castle is one of the spectacular examples of the feudal era. It is the only Irish castle surrounded by flooded moat. Ardgillan Castle placed on the coastline between Balbriggan and Skerries among parks is an architectural brilliant. Its views of Dublin parks are magnificent. Dublin Castle, Aras an Uachtarain (the residence of the President) and Whitefriar Street Church are three of the other historical structures of the city.
Crossing over the Liffey River, Ha’penny Bridge is the oldest pedestrian bridge of the city. The bridge was constructed in 1816.
Dublin has many beautiful gardens. Dublin’s Secret Garden placed at the end of Blessington Street is a heaven for local wildlife. Fernhill Gardens are composed of large parklands, woodlands, water-gardens which are privately owned. National Botanic Gardens located at Glasnevin were found in 1795. This amazing area is home to sensory garden, rock garden, a large pond, student garden and decorative plants.
Dublin Zoo is the most favorable family attraction. Here, you will find giraffes, zebras, rhinos, hippos, chimpanzees and a great deal more.
Culture & EntertainmentDublin has a colorful, dynamic and pretty diverse culture holding many world wide famous elements. The musical city boasts with its world famous musicians. Chieftains, U2, Boyzone and Westlife were born at Dublin. Many pubs found in the city are the best places for a great range of music genres such as traditional, popular music.
