Surprise Result At Belek

Scene of a fierce competition in its fifth year, the Turkish Airlines Ladies Open ended in victory for South Africa’s Lee-Anne Pace.

The Turkey leg of the Ladies European Tour (LET) was the scene of fierce competition at Belek National Golf Club. Lee-Anne Pace succeeded in finishing one stroke ahead of Carlota Ciganda, Charlie Hull and Minea Blomqvist at the Turkish Airlines Ladies Open, where the leaderboard was wiped clean every day.

Starting off the final day behind a group made up of Carlota Ciganda, last year’s winner Christel Boeljon and young golfer Charlie Hull, Pace played the 18 holes extremely well and started to wait for her group to finish. Her wait ended in excitement when both Hull and Ciganda, with very slight differences, were unable to make birdies* on the 18th hole, and Pace became the happy winner of the tournament after three years without a victory.

1 Number of strokes less than golfers Minea Blomqvist, Carlota Ciganda and Charlie Hull, who shared second place
