Vodafone İstanbul Calling is hosting a number of big names in Istanbul in June. Here are some of the events.

The National, with frontman Matt Berninger, is one of several bands that are perpetuating the style of the Rolling Stones. Famous for songs like “Boxer”, “Mr. November”, and “Fake Empire”, this celebrated band is performing at Istanbul Parkorman on June 23.

The 30 Seconds to Mars concert, slated to take place at Istanbul Parkorman on June 30, continues the series of Indie music concerts that gets under way on the 23rd. The Maccabees will provide warm-up for the concert of this band with Jared Leto as lead vocalist.

One of the leaders in electronic dance music, the Dutch DJ Tiësto is at BJK İnönü Stadium on Friday, June 7. Grammy award nominee Tiësto was also the first DJ to perform at the Olympics when he took the stage at the opening of the 2004 Games in Athens.

This band, which will appear alongside Basement Jaxx and Jaguar Skills as “Dance Day” at BJK İnönü Stadium on Saturday, June 29, is one of the leading names in dance music. With sales of upwards of 16 million albums worldwide, The Prodigy has been nominated for numerous Grammys and MTV Music Awards.

Bringing together music documentaries old and new, the Music Documentaries Festival is one of June’s biggest events. Among the selections are new documentaries like “Cure for Pain: The Mark Sandman Story” and classics like “The Year Punk Broke”. This festival, which is free of charge, aims to bring music lovers together at Istanbul Pera Museum from May 31 to June 9.
