1. Where can I go to book a flight online?

After accessing into the Turkish Airlines web site (www.turkishairlines.com) you can start to make your reservations using the online ticket option on the online services menu.

2. How do I select my seat during the online booking process?

Except domestic economy cabin, you will be displayed the interactive seat map on the confirmation page. Then, you can make your seat selection according to your seat preferences.

3. Can I select seats on your seat map if I am flying on a code-share flight?

On Turkish Airlines flights, on the confirmation page you are allowed to make a seat preference 100 days prior to flight only in Business Class for domestic flights and in both Business and Economy classes for international flights. In accordance with the agreements made with the other airline companies seat preference is not possible for the code share flights.

4. What happens to my seat if Turkish Airlines has a schedule change or an equipment change?

You will be informed about the change, and a new seat selection similar to the previous one will be made.

5. I booked online yesterday. Can I review my online reservation today?

By using "My Reservations" button, you can display your existing reservations.

6. I purchased a ticket from a travel agent. Can I review the booking online?

No. You can only display online reservations made through Turkish Airlines web site.

7. The flights are closed. Can I waitlist a reservation online?

Waitlisting online is not possible. However you may waitlist yourself by calling Turkish Airlines sales offices.

8. Do I need to reconfirm my flight?

When booking online please check the note below the availability screen to see whether there is a need for reconfirmation or not.

9. Can I reconfirm online?

Yes. You can make reconfirmation of your flights in your ticket via online ticket Reconfirmation link on our web pages when there is 72 hours to your flight.

10. What does ”Closed” mean?

Closed means that the requested flight is closed due to insufficient time.

11. Can I make changes to a reservation that I have already made on your web site?

For the amendments in the reservation, please call your local internet sales service center. Depending on the ticketing rules, internet sales service centers will explain the amendment procedures and rules.

12. To which destinations can I make online booking?

You can make online booking for Turkish Airlines all direct and connecting flights.

13. Will my credit card be charged straight away?

After having confirmed the reservation details on the confirmation page, your credit card will be charged accordingly.

14. I am trying to book a flight via your site, but my credit card was refused. Why?

There may be different reasons such as unavailable limit, invalid card number, expiration error and etc. Under such a circumstance please contact to customer relations center in order to get information about your card refusal.

15. How do I cancel my online reservation?

In case your first flight departure time is over please call local ISSC( Internet Sales Service Center) or apply to the ticket sales counter where your journey begins. You can reach local ISSC phone numbers by clicking on the contact button on the online ticket pages. Cancellation of your booking will be made according to the fare rules on your ticket. TICKET ON DEPARTURE (TOD) RESERVATION CANCEL: Both for domestic and international flights; rebooking and rerouting is not permitted on original bookings. In order to make a change, you should completely cancel your reservation and rebook via Internet. In case there are more than 12 hours prior to the departure for domestic lines, cancellation can only be done via Internet and there is no penalty. After having completed the reservation for international lines and in case there are less than 12 hours prior to the departure for domestic lines, automatic cancellation via Internet is not permitted. Credit Card holder passenger may cancel his/her TOD reservation (if it was not ticketed) by clicking Cancel Reservation button on the Ticket- Online Web Site. By clicking "Cancel Reservation" button you can cancel passengers' flights under the same passenger number confirmation code. An e-mail message concerning cancellation result will be sent to the credit card holder's e-mail address. Cancelled ticket/s refund amount will be returned to registered credit card account automatically. It is not possible to make any change on reservation made via Internet. In order to make a change, you should completely cancel your reservation and rebook via Internet.

16. What is a restricted fare?

Even though there is no difference in the service or seat quality for the same cabin, various fares are applied on our flights differentiated by minimum stay time in the destination point, advanced purchase time of the ticket etc. The fares having these kinds of restrictions are called restricted fares.

17. How can I view the fare rules via your web site?

On the pricing page, Just under the price details you will be given fare notes link. By clicking the link, you will be able to view the fare notes explaining the important issues about the specific fare.

18. What should I do if I do not understand the fare rules?

Please call either local call center or Internet sales service center whose telephone numbers are available in the contact button.

19. Can I see all fares available on my selected flights/dates online?

We are sorry that we can not provide such a service currently. Please call either call local Turkish Airlines Sales Offices or THY Call Center (+ 90 212 444 0 849 in Turkey).

20. Can I book online on turkishairlines.com and purchase my ticket from the ticket sales offices later?

You may choose `Ticket By Office` as the delivery option and book online in order to purchase your ticket later on.

21. I requested the economy restricted fare and was quoted a higher fare, why?

Even if you have selected the economy restricted fare, the automatic pricing system checks the availability of the class in relation to the lowest fare. If the class of the lowest fare is unavailable then the pricing system offers the higher fares whose related classes are available.

22. Can I get reduced fares when booking online?

EFT/MONEY TRANSFER can be made through banks (except Isbank) located in Turkey. If you want use your Isbank account, please use Internet Banking payment method.

23. Do you have special offers?

Yes. Please follow our special offers link on our web site.

24. Why is there no available seat for special offers?

Special offer fares have a limited capacity. If all seats reserved to special fares are sold you can not book a seat for that fare. But you can still book for a higher fare.

25. Why can the fare for a particular flight virtually change from one day to the next day?

The fares are seasonal and so valid only certain periods of time.

26. I have purchased a refundable ticket on turkishairlines.com. How can I obtain a refund?

On the basis of the fare notes, your refund will be made.

27 How can I check availability and fares without entering my credit card details?

By following the site till third page, you can check the availability and fares.

28. Can you send me information about your lowest fares?

Sorry this is not possible since the automatic pricing system checks the availability of the related class for the lowest fare as well. Thus if the class of the lowest fare is unavailable when you access the system you will not get the same fare any longer.

29. How can I get a price for my trip?

After having specified the reservation details you will be displayed the availability for the requested itinerary and the date. On the third page, which is the pricing page, your booking will be priced on the basis of your class preference.

30. The fare is different than what I was quoted during the booking process, What will I do?

For the bookings (TICKET ON DEPARTURE) whose online payment made during the online reservation process, the fare is guaranteed Fares for TICKET BY OFFICE bookings are subject to change since they are only valid for the country where the journey begins.

31. How far in advance can I book a flight online?

Online reservations can only be made at least 5 hours up to 90 days prior to your first flight. 32. For Ticket on Departure reservations which documents do I need to bring to the airport to collect my ticket?

For the TICKET ON DEPARTURE booking, you must bring the credit card used for the payment during the online reservation with you and also a valid ID card. For the other delivery options no document is needed.

33. Which credit cards do you accept for payment online?

Only Visa and Master Cards and American Express are accepted. But if you want to use other credit cards like JCB, Air Travel Card-UATP-, Prestige, Discover Card, you can choose Ticket By Office option and pay by credit card at our offices. (Where available)

34. Can I charge someone to collect my ticket?

You can charge someone to collect your ticket for the ticket by office reservation option; otherwise you should apply for ticket collection by yourself.

35. PAYMENT by EFT/MONEY TRANSFER


EFT option is valid only for tickets purchased via our web site.

Departure date of first segment of PNRs whose payment is made via EFT/MONEY TRANSFER, has to be between 2 working days + 5 days and 90 days after first reservation date. EFT/MONEY TRANSFER payment option can only be offered only for the flights departing from Turkey. Option time limit of the PNRs with EFT/MONEY TRANSFER payment will end at 15:55 on the second business day after the reservation date. EFT/MONEY TRANSFER will be made among banks located within Turkey. EFT/MONEY TRANSFER transactions shall be completed by transferring total amount and EFT/MONEY TRANSFER code stated in the Payment/Confirmation page to Turkish Airlines" Bank Account .Tickets will be issued after confirmation of the total amount’s transfer to Turkish Airlines" bank account according to THY’s record. Taking into consideration the differences in the banks" EFT/MONEY TRANSFER applications, Cancel/Refund request will be entered in THY records and completed as soon as possible. Since Bank are not available during official holidays and weekends, web site does not offer EFT/Money TRANSFER payment option in these periods. Passenger is responsible for the transfer of the required amount to Turkish Airlines bank account. THY shall not be held liable for any delays or other defects (including but not limited to, deficient/excess transfer amount, transfer limits, rules for transfer from the bank counter) arising out of banking systems and applications. In case of dispute, Turkish Airlines" records shall be conclusive evidence.

Returns can only be accepted with the purchase receipt. Returns credited back to customer as cash. There are no any other return options available.

36. Where can I go to book an award flight online?

On Turkish Airline web site you can make your award ticket reservation using the Online award ticket option on the Online Services menu. Online Companion ticket and online upgrade reservations are not applied. For Companion ticket and upgrade award reservations, please call reservation call center 444 0 849

For unavailable direct flights, you will be displayed 6 first available alternative flights. You can look for other alternatives by pressing next and previous day buttons just beneath the flight availability screen.

43. To which destinations can I make online booking?

No. Please call to the nearast thy sales office for your booking changes.

44. Is the mileage amount required for the selected award ticket be deducted from my Miles&Smiles automatically after the online reservation is completed?

You have two alternatives for online award ticket reservation. Ticket by Office (TBO) or Ticket on Departure (TOD) . In case you select TOD option, the miles will be deducted from your account automatically after the reservation is completed. If you select TBO option, the miles will be redeemed from your account during the ticketing at the sales office.

45. Can I make an online award ticket reservation without having a credit card?

You can make online award ticket reservation by choosing the "TBO" (Ticket by Office) option if you do not have a credit card.

46. Can I use someone else s credit card to book my award ticket online?

The credit card holder must be one of the passengers in your award ticket reservation.

47. Can I book online award ticket to someone other than myself?

You can make online award ticket reservation for up to 5 people in case the Miles&Smiles card holder whose miles will be redeemed is also traveling with you.

49. How do I cancel my online award ticket reservation?

TICKET BY OFFICE (TBO) FREE TICKET RESERVATION CANCEL: If your reservation has not been ticketed you may cancel your online reservation through our web site by clicking on the cancel reservation button. All passengers' flight under the same reservation code will be cancelled with the "Cancel Reservation" button. An e-mail message concerning cancellation result will be sent to e-mail address given during the reservation process. It is not possible to make any change on reservations made through Turkish Airlines web site. In order to make changes on an Internet reservation, it should be completely cancelled and then booked again or either Internet Sales Service Center or Turkish Airlines Sales Office or call centers should be called. TICKET ON DEPARTURE (TOD) FREE TICKET RESERVATION CHANGE: Once the award tickets are issued, only the flight times and dates can be changed, at an extra charge mentioned below. "For International Flights: 20 Euro For Domestic Flights: 20 Euro Changes in the routing is not permitted. In case of no-show, flight times and flight dates can be changed at an extra charge mentioned below: For International Flights: 40 Euro For Domestic Flights: 40 Euro Mileage return: You can re-credit your miles to your account by paying 20 Euro for international flights, 20 Euro for domestic flights provided that no part of the valid award ticket has been used. If no-show has occurred for international flight award amendment cost will be 40 Euro, for domestic flight award then the amendment cost will be 40 Euro ".The miles credited back are valid from the crediting date. Airport taxes are subject to regular refund procedures. You must present your MILES&SMILES card at Turkish Airlines Sales Offices while having your itinerary changed and performing transactions for re-crediting miles. Travel agents are not authorized to perform these services.

50. What does limited seat capacity ad guaranteed seat mean?

Mileage amount for Limited seat capacity means the previous mileage amounts applied since the launch date of our program and can be used only if there is available seat in the respective class. Mileage amount for Guaranteed seat means you may confirm your award ticket reservations just like paid tickets as long as the flight is open for sales.

51. How can I get the information on the mileage amounts required for Miles&Smiles award tickets?

52. Can I book online on turkishairlines.com and purchase my award ticket later from the ticket sales offices?

You may choose?  Ticket By Office? (TBO) as the delivery option and book online in order to purchase your award ticket later on from THY Sales Offices.

53. Does any problem occure at the sales office if I could not present the credit card of which the number has been entered during online award ticket transaction?

In case you could not present the credit card used for the online payment during online award ticket transaction, no-show penalty will be applied if it is the last 2 hours before departure on international flights or 1 hour before departure on domestic flights. Otherwise, only the mileage refund penalty will be charged and miles will be redeposited.

54. Can I make a round-trip reservation via your web site?

On the flight-planning page, while specifying your reservation details, select round trip as a travel type.

For the TICKET ON DEPARTURE award ticket reservation, you must bring the credit card used for the payment during the online reservation with you and also a valid ID card, your Miles&Smiles membership card and your signed written request.

58. Which credit cards do you accept for payment online?

We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Carte Blue and CartaSi Card for payments made on the Turkish Airlines website. But if you want to use other credit cards like JCB, Air Travel Card-UATP-, Prestige, Discover Card, you can choose Ticket By Office option and make payment in our offices by the credit card you prefer.

You can charge someone to collect your award ticket for the Ticket By Office award ticket reservation option together with the documents stated on the answer of question number 35. Otherwise you should apply for ticket collection by yourself.

Miles&Smiles award tickets cannot be issued for one-way travel.

Maximum 6 flights per reservation session.

63. How many passengers can I book online in one itinerary?

You can only book up to 5 passengers (adult +child) in one reservation on our web site including the Miles&Smiles member whose miles will be redeemed.

64. Where do I go if I need to travel to more than one city in a single trip when making a reservation via your web site?

You can make your reservation involving multiple cities by selecting Return to/from different city as the travel type on the flight planning page.

65. How many flight segments can I book in one itinerary when making online reservation?

Maximum 6 flights per reservation session.

66. How many passengers can I book online in one itinerary?

You can book up to 4 passengers (adult +child) in one reservation. Number of babies can be equal to but not more than the number of adults.
