Turkish Airlines wins 2012 Silver Stevie Award in International Business Awards global competition

Turkish Airlines was awarded a silver medal by the Stevie Awards in the "Best Internal Recognition/Motivational Event" category. Turkish Airlines was recognized for the March 15 event held at the Turkish Technic Hangar in Istanbul.

At the event, Turkish Airlines unveiled a newly painted B-737-800 that was covered with the photos of roughly 17,000 of the airline’s employees. The aircraft was given this special livery to acknowledge the dedication of its staff as the airline has grown and won numerous awards for excellence. There were 1,500 staff present at the unveiling and the aircraft is now in service, carrying its message of staff service and quality around the network.

There were over 3,200 nominations in all categories in 2012, and the winners were chosen by a panel of over 300 executives from around the world. The awards will be presented to winners at a gala 9th annual awards banquet to be held at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Seoul, South Korea on October 15.
