Turkish Airlines flies from Antalya to Istanbul for fifteen times a day in average. This number may be increased with the connecting flights over Ankara Esenboğa Airport (ESB). Flights take nearly one hour and fifteen minutes and land either at Istanbul Airport (IST) or Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport (SAW). The distance between these two cities is roughly five hundred kilometers.
Istanbul serves as a significant transit center for the flights operated by Turkish Airlines. Although there are direct flights from Antalya to the world, passengers in Antalya generally prefer having connecting flights over Istanbul in their journeys abroad. This is one of the underlying reasons for the busy traffic between these cities.
