Transportation from Istanbul Airport (IST) to the city center

Istanbul Airport (IST) is located on the D20 road and connects to both TEM and E5. There are plenty of different modes of transportation you can use to reach the airport that is only 35 km from the city center.

It takes around 30 minutes to reach the city center by taxi and costs around 100-110 TL. One option is Havaist, the shuttles reach many places in the city on the European or Anatolian side. Transportation from Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport (SAW) to the city center

Located on the Anatolian side, Sabiha Gökçen Airport (SAW) serves as a landing and transit point for the passengers going to the Anatolian side or the nearby cities like Bursa, Yalova and Izmit.

The subway system at Anatolian side does not reach to Sabiha Gökçen Airport (SAW); however, you may get to the subway station by taking the municipal bus numbered KM22 departing from the airport and heading towards Kartal Subway Station. You may then reach anywhere on E5 highway easily with Kartal subway line.

Passengers wishing to use buses may use the municipal buses between Sabiha Gökçen Airport (SAW) and Kadıköy. The buses numbered E11 and SG-1 which serve between these points operate at very frequent intervals. Setting off from the airport, E11 stops by all the bus stops on E5 highway, whereas the express SG-1 service stops by only Çamlık and Yenisahra bus stops.

Airport shuttles are another alternative for reaching Kadıköy and Taksim from the airport.

You may also rent a car from the car rental offices within the airport or use the cabs serving 7/24 to reach any destination within the city.
