These conditions apply to citizens and residents of Turkey. Passengers with a travel permit will be able to travel only if their HES codes are not associated with diagnosed/contacted cases.
In addition, only passengers with a travel permit may book flights between 7.00 PM on Thursday, April 29, 2021 and 5.00 AM on Monday, May 17, 2021. Passengers who have already purchased a ticket for this period can change their tickets free of charge if they are unable to obtain a travel permit.
Question: When is the curfew (full lockdown period) in effect?
Answer: A full-time curfew will be imposed starting on Thursday, April 29, 2021, at 7.00 PM and ending at 5:00 AM on Monday, May 17, 2021.
Question: Will flights continue during the total lockdown?
Answer: Flights continue as planned. There has been no change in domestic flights schedule other than the travel permit requirement.
Question: I purchased a domestic flight ticket during the curfew period prior to the issuance of the Ministry of Interior circular. Do I still need a travel permit to travel on these dates?
Answer: The travel permit is required for passengers who purchased tickets for domestic flights taking place during the total lockdown. You must present your travel permit to our officers at the check-in counter and to law enforcement officers, if requested, while you are outside.
Question: I purchased a domestic flight ticket just before the total lockdown. What will happen to my ticket if I am unable to get a travel permit?
Answer: Passengers who cannot obtain a travel permit and have flights during the lockdown can change their tickets for flights ticketed before April 26, 2021, and the new flight is until June 30, 2021 (inclusive) without paying any fare difference or change fee provided that the new ticket is purchased for the same fare class or without paying any penalty fee for unused tickets. For detailed information, change and/or refunds, please contact the call center (0850 333 0 849).
Question: I have an international flight during the lockdown. Do I need a travel permit?
Answer: Passengers travelling abroad from Turkey do not need to obtain a travel permit. Passengers who have international flights with domestic connections can go to the airport and board their flights if they submit their international ticket during the checks.
Question: I am arriving to Turkey from abroad and have a domestic flight. Do I need a travel permit?
Answer: There is no travel permit requirement for passengers arriving in Turkey from abroad. Passengers continuing to another city in Turkey with a connecting domestic flight are exempt from the restriction. If required or requested, they must present the ticket indicating an international flight.
Question: Where can I go if I have a problem with my travel permit or HES code at the airport?
Answer: While the city sales offices are closed during the total lockdown, the sales offices in the airports continue to provide service and support. If you encounter a problem, you can get support from the airport sales offices.
Question: Will people who are not citizens of the Republic of Turkey also be affected by the curfew?
Curfew exemptions for people who are not citizens of the Republic of Turkey only covers tourists who are in Turkey for a temporary/short period of time within the scope of touristic activities. Other foreigners who are in Turkey, including residents, temporary protection holders or international protection applicants and status holders, are subject to the conditions of the curfew.
