Here are the best places and times to take photos in Cappadocia…
Hot air balloons, are one of the essential things you need to capture on your travels in Cappadocia. Go on a hot air balloon tour in the early morning and capture the panoramic views of Cappadocia from the hot air balloon or capture the stunning view of the balloons drifting across the sky. Avanos, Çavuşin and Goreme, the Kızılçukur Valley and Aşılar Hill, in particular, are the most ideal places to photograph hot air balloons.
If you are looking to get some mystical shots, we know just the place for you. You need to he visit the 450-year-old municipal inn in Göreme, restored some years ago and later converted into a carpet store. The inn is laden with old woven carpets. Capture the gorgeous carpets embellished with Anatolian motifs and take photos among the colorful carpets. It is worth noting that you will need to book in advance.
Uçhisar makes for beautiful photographs. You can capture the vast sweeping valleys, fairy chimnies, and churches carved in the rocks.
The Üç Güzeller (The Three Beauties) is the three fairy chimnies with 3 caps, another popular photo spot. Set off from the Kızıl Çukur Valley and head to Ürgüp, to capture this iconic scene in Cappadocia
Castle! The enchanting Ortahisar Castle, the largest fairy chimney of all Cappadocia, will immediately have you under its spell. You can explore the castle as well as capture photos of its majestic beauty. From the top of the castle, you can capture some bird's eye view photos of Ürgüp, Avanos, and Goreme.
When in Ortahisar, taking time to watch the sunset over Kızılçukur Valley and Paşabağı is a must. You can also capture some impressive shots of the sunset at Güllüdere Valley in the town of Göreme.
Don't forget to take pictures of the houses carved into the rocks on your tour of Cappadocia. You can take amazing photos of the clusterings of multiple rock houses. Why not stay in there?
