Surfing

You can carry your surf board in our flights to experience breathtaking moments on waves.

Carrying surfboards on flights

Surfboard’s maximum length shall be 292 cm (115 inches) and width shall be 60 cm (24 inches). 

  • Special baggage fee is not applied in domestic flights; your baggage will be processed as checked baggage. In case baggage allowance is exceeded, excess baggage fee, calculated according to the weight of the baggage, will be requested. 
  • Special baggage feeis applied in international flights.
  • The surf board shall be packaged with its nose and tail covered with bubble wrap or foam plus the sides supported to soften blows in a way to prevent damage and carried in its special bag. 
  • It is mandatory to make reservation entry. 
  • As some aircraft types in our fleet are not suitable for carrying the cargo of these sizes, do not forget to inform the related personnel during reservation. Your equipment not having the appropriate sizes can be carried on cargo flights.
On all flights arriving to Hurghada (HRG) and Sharm El Sheikh (SSH) and on all return flights from these destinations, one set of your diving, kitesurfing and windsurfing equipment will be carried free of charge until 31 December 2019. Special fees will be applicable for more than one set of diving, kitesurfing and windsurfing equipment per person or if there is a voluntary stopover in Turkey which exceeds 24 hours.
On flights departing from Sao Paulo (SAO) to Singapore (SIN), Kuala Lumpur (KUL), Jakarta (CGK), Bangkok (BKK) and Male (MLE), instead of two pieces of baggage weighing 32 kg, you can carry a single piece of baggage weighing 32 kg and up to three surf boards. To use you baggage allowance as such, your surf boards must not exceed 3 m in length and must not weigh more than 32 kg in total. Special fees will be applicable for every additional surf board if more than three boards are carried.
On all flights departing from Tel Aviv (TLV) to Colombo (CMB) or Male (MLE), and on return flights from these destinations; 1 set of your diving or surfing equipment with a maximum length of 200 cm will be transported free of charge until 31 December 2019. Special fees will be applicable if the length of your surfboard exceeds 200 cm or for the second or more sets of diving equipment and surfboards, or in case the transit time at Turkey exceeds 24 hours.
Starting from 17 July 2019, on all flights arriving to Denpasar-Bali (DPS) and on all return flights from these destinations, one set of your surfing equipment will be carried free of charge until 31 December 2019. Special fees will be applicable for more than one set of surfing equipment per person or if there is a voluntary stopover in Turkey which exceeds 24 hours.
On all flights departing from Bilbao (BIO) to Maldives (MLE) and on return flights from these destinations; 1 set of your surfing equipment will be transported free of charge until 31 December 2019. Special fees will be applicable for the second or more sets of surfing equipment or in case the transit time at Turkey exceeds 24 hours.
On all flights departing from Lizbon (LIS), Porto (OPO) to Colombo (CMB), Mauritius (MRU), Maldives (MLE) and on return flights from these destinations; 1 set of your surfing equipment will be transported free of charge until 31 December 2019. Special fees will be applicable for the second or more sets of surfing equipment or in case the transit time at Turkey exceeds 24 hours.
