Ramadan, the sultan of eleven months, has a very significant place in the Islamic World. This holy month, when spirituality heightens with fasting and other devotions, end with Eid al-Fitr. During Eid al-Fitr, people visit their loved ones, get an opportunity to rest and spend serene days outside their routine daily life. The happiness brought by the Bairam is shared all around the world with Eid messages.

The importance of Eid al-Fitr

This holy month which also includes Laylat al-Qadr, the night when the first verses of the Quran were revealed, is considered as the month of peace and abundance. The Bairam, strengthening solidarity and unity, brings people together with their loved ones, and it also provides a chance of reconciliation. Donations to the persons in need increase as well during Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr.

When is Eid al-Fitr?

For those of you with the question, “When will Eid al-Fitr begin?” on your minds. Mark your calendars! Eid al-Fitr is starting on Tuesday the 4th of June and ending on the Thursday the 6th of June. For employees in public institutions and organizations, Monday the 3rd of June 2019 is a half day holiday and Friday the 7th of June 2019 is a full-day holiday. For employees in the private sector, Monday the 3rd of June is a half day. Extend your holiday to 9 days, by getting a day off work on Friday the 7th of June.
