Discounts for passengers with disabilities and their companions

We offer discounted airline tickets to passengers who have disabilities, as well as to their companions. Miles&Smiles members who present their disability certificate on their first flight, along with their companions, can enjoy a 20% discount on domestic flights and a 25% discount on international flights on subsequent flights without having to present the certificate again. Furthermore, passengers with disabilities who are Miles&Smiles members and their immediate family members on the same reservation can select standard seats at no additional charge.

Our passengers and their companions can receive the discount by presenting one of the following documents, confirming their disability, at our sales offices.

  • A disability ID card issued by the General Directorate of Services for Persons with Disabilities and the Elderly under the Ministry of Family and Social Services
  • A medical board report issued by a fully equipped state hospital indicating that the individual has a disability of 40% or higher
  • An identity card bearing the notation “Person with a Disability”
  • For passengers who are not citizens of the Republic of Türkiye, a disability certificate issued by the relevant official authorities of their country of citizenship

  • The fare discount for passengers with disabilities is 20% on domestic flights and 25% on international flights departing from or arriving in Türkiye. The discount applies to domestic flights with connecting segments but does not apply to international transit flights.
  • The discount is applied to the base fare. Taxes, fees, and surcharges are excluded.
  • The passenger with a disability and the accompanying passenger must both have Miles&Smiles accounts. To be eligible for the discount, the “Passenger with a Disability” status must be verified in the Miles&Smiles account of the relevant passenger.
  • For Turkish citizens with disabilities, the discount is available without the need to present documentation when booking through the call center, the Turkish Airlines website, or the mobile app. Discounted tickets can be purchased through other channels by presenting the required documentation.
  • Passengers who are not citizens of the Republic of Türkiye may receive the discount by presenting a disability certificate issued by the official authorities of their country of citizenship at the ticket office. The discount is valid only on Turkish Airlines flights; codeshare and SPA flights are excluded.
  • Under this policy, to take advantage of the discount offered to passengers with disabilities on our international flights, tickets must be booked exclusively under the “passenger with disabilities” or “companion” fare class. Separate reservations must be made for other passenger types traveling together.
  • Promotional fare classes are not eligible for the discount on domestic flights.
  • Changes, cancellations, and refunds for tickets issued with the “passenger with disabilities” discount are subject to the rules of the applicable fare class.

  • Due to country-specific regulations, the “passenger with disabilities” discount does not apply to flights departing from the United States and Canada.

  • A passenger with a disability who is a citizen of the Republic of Türkiye and requires a caregiver is permitted to have their caregiver book a ticket at the same discount rate.
  • The companion cannot book a ticket on their own; they must book their ticket together with the passenger who has a disability and who requires a companion.
  • The passenger with a disability and the companion must both have Miles&Smiles accounts; to be eligible for the discount, the “Passenger with a Disability” category must be verified in the Miles&Smiles account of the relevant passenger.
  • Only passengers with disabilities who are designated as “requiring a companion” in the Ministry’s system are eligible for the companion discount.
  • To receive the companion discount, you must select the “Passenger with a Disability/Companion” passenger type during the passenger selection process.
  • Passengers under the age of 18 cannot serve as companions.
