Travelling with an infant

If you’re traveling with your baby, you can enjoy the discounted ticket advantages offered for infant passengers! To be considered an infant passenger, babies must be at least seven days old and under two years old. For the most comfortable travel experience with your baby, please review the guidelines on traveling with an infant – before, during and after the flight.

Infant passenger general information

Parents and/or guardians may bring infants between the age of two and seven days on the flight if they present a doctor's report stating that "There is no harm in traveling by plane". Turkish Airlines does not permit infants born less than 48 hours prior to the flight on its aircraft.

Infant passengers must travel with a parent or legal guardian who is at least 18 years old. There must be at least one adult companion per infant passenger. The infant passenger must be seated on the lap of their companion and fastened with a special baby belt. Adult and infant passengers must have their own flight documents (passport, ID, ticket, etc.).

Each infant passenger must be accompanied by a designated parent or guardian; there can only be one infant on lap per adult. If a single parent/guardian is traveling with more than one infant, the first infant is considered a lap passenger and provided with an infant ticket. Additional infant passengers are provided with child tickets and must sit in their own seat for a fee. Parents/guardians must provide a stroller or child seat for each additional infant so that the infant passenger can be secured in the seat with a seat belt.

An accompanying adult may request a seat for an infant passenger. If requested, the infant passenger will be seated in that seat during the flight. If a seat is requested for an infant passenger, a discounted child ticket will be issued for the infant. The infant may travel in a car-style stroller measuring 40x40 cm brought by the accompanying adult, and no additional fee will be charged for the car-style stroller brought by the passenger.

The aircraft’s baby bassinet can be attached only to the front dividers in the Economy and Business classes of aircraft types that feature extra legroom seats. Extra legroom seats can be purchased prior to the flight.
