You can carry your surf board in our flights to experience breathtaking moments on waves.

Carrying surfboards on flights

Surfboard’s maximum length shall be 292 cm (115 inches) and width shall be 60 cm (24 inches). 

  • Surfboard transportation service is charged for domestic flights and we carry your 1 surfboard for 500 TRY.
  • Special baggage feeis applied in international flights.
  • The surf board shall be packaged with its nose and tail covered with bubble wrap or foam plus the sides supported to soften blows in a way to prevent damage and carried in its special bag. 
  • It is mandatory to make reservation entry. 
  • As some aircraft types in our fleet are not suitable for carrying the cargo of these sizes, do not forget to inform the related personnel during reservation. Your equipment not having the appropriate sizes can be carried on cargo flights.
  • Special charges for transport of sports equipment and terms and conditions may vary on Ajet flights. Please visit our page for more detailed information.

Valid until December 31, 2025: For flights departing from Bordeaux (BOD), arriving in Male (MLE), Colombo (CMB), Cebu (CEB), Manila (MNL), Zanzibar (ZNZ), Denpasar (DPS), and Jakarta (JKT) and on the return routes of these flights, we transport one piece of surfing equipment with a maximum length of 292 cm within the checked baggage allowance applicable to your ticket. Special charges apply if you have more than one piece of surfing equipment or if your travel includes a stopover of more than 24 hours in Türkiye.

Valid until December 31, 2025: For trips departing from Marseille ( MRS), arriving in Male( MLE)) and on the return routes of these trips, we transport one piece of kitesurfing equipment within the checked baggage allowance applicable to your ticket. Special charges apply if you have more than one piece of surfing equipment or if your trip includes a stopover of more than 24 hours in Türkiye.

For all network departures to Denpasar (DPS), Jakarta (JKT), Sri Lanka (Colombo-CMB), Melbourne (MEL), and Sydney (SYD), and on the return leg of these trips, we will carry one surfboard up to 292 cm in length as included in the checked baggage allowance stated on your ticket until December 31, 2026; this policy applies only on flights operated by Turkish Airlines. If you have more than one surfboard, sports equipment fees apply.

On flights departing from Bilbao (BIO), Manila (MNL), Denpasar (DPS), Jakarta (JKT), and Male (MLE) and on the return leg of these trips, we will transport one piece of surfing/kitesurfing equipment as included in the checked baggage allowance stated on your ticket until December 31, 2026. Special fees apply if you have more than one piece of surfing equipment or if your trip includes a stopover in Türkiye lasting more than 24 hours.

Valid until December 31, 2025: For trips departing from Bilbao (BIO), arriving in Manila (MNL), Cebu (CEB), Denpasar (DPS), Jakarta (JKT) or Male (MLE) and on the return routes of these trips, we transport one piece of kitesurfing equipment within the checked baggage allowance applicable to your ticket. Special charges apply if you have more than one piece of surfing equipment or if your trip includes a stopover of more than 24 hours in Türkiye.

Valid until December 31, 2025: For trips departing from Lisbon (LIS) and Porto (OPO), arriving in Male (MLE) and on the return routes of these trips, we transport one piece of surfing equipment within the checked baggage allowance applicable to your ticket. If you have more than one piece of surfing equipment (maximum 2m) sports equipment fees apply

Valid until December 31, 2025: For all trips departing from the network, arriving to Mauritius (MRU) and on the return routes of these trips, we transport one piece of kitesurfing equipment within the checked baggage allowance applicable to your ticket. Special charges apply if you have more than one piece of surfing equipment or if your trip includes a stopover of more than 24 hours in Türkiye.
