Corporate Social Responsibility

We fly to the most countries in the world and connect continents.

We build powerful bridges between different worlds, people and cultures.

As a brand with a passion to connect the world in the most powerful way, we have a great responsibility.

This responsibility compels us to carry out numerous projects and develop collaborations on behalf of our world and humanity.

At the heart of our work are local and global projects that fully consider the future of individuals, education and nature while generating sustainable benefits.

Environment

We utilize a broad framework in our environmental approach and we strive to produce value for society and nature at every point, working with all our strength for a sustainable world.

Upcycling for the Future

When our cabin crew bags reached the end of their original lives, we transformed them into children's shoes and distributed them throughout the country. Click here to see "Transformation into the Future," our acclaimed film and winner of the Stevie International Business Awards in the “Communications or PR Campaign of the Year, Corporate Responsibility” category, and the Kotler Awards Türkiye, “Social Responsibility Jury Special Award” category..

Wildlife Turkish Cargo

Abiding by the United for Wildlife Buckingham Palace Declaration of 2017, we care about animal rights, particularly in our live animal transport processes. Through the Wildlife project, we work to prevent the illegal wildlife trade and raise industry awareness.

TOFD Plastic Cover

Plastic caps are collected on all Turkish Airlines campuses and delivered to the Spinal Cord Paralysis Association of Türkiye at regular intervals. Medical supplies are provided through the donation of these collected caps.

Tomorrow on Board

You can learn more about the sustainability studies, reports and current projects carried out by Turkish Airlines regarding in-flight products, and pre- and post-flight services on the Tomorrow on Board page.

91,000 Trees in the 91st Year

To commemorate the 91st year of our partnership, we donated a total of 91,000 saplings, including 30,000 olive trees and 61,000 pistachio trees, to Şanlıurfa and the surrounding provinces. After the saplings grow into trees, the income generated from the pistachio and olive harvests will belong to the farmers who care for the saplings.

In addition to planting saplings on behalf of each member of our partnership, we are gratified to provide a sustainable contribution to our country and our farmers as a flagship brand and as the Turkish Airlines family. Furthermore, this project, which supports employee loyalty and focuses on social solidarity through employment for farmers affected by the earthquake, was granted the ‘Sustainability Initiative of the Year’ (Silver Category) and ‘Corporate Social Responsibility Program of the Year’ (Bronze Category) awards at the International Business Awards.

You can watch our video detailing the journey of olives and pistachios here.

Deposit Management System

Under the Environmental Law, the Headquarters building was selected for the Deposit Management System, and a deposit return machine was installed. With the aim of recycling beverage packaging, the Deposit Management System supports THY's sustainability goals by conserving energy, reducing waste generation, and lowering greenhouse gas emissions. Simultaneously, the value derived from recycling contributes to employees’ economy.

Education

We encourage children and young people to enter the fields of science, technology and aviation. We consistently support the personal development of our employees with original projects.

Entrepreneur mentoring

In the Terminal project, conducted by Turkish Technology to contribute to the startup ecosystem, we offer mentorship in CSR-specific and general brand communications. You can review the  Terminal projects we support for initiatives here.

Corporate Volunteering Training

We organize trainings for Turkish Airlines employees led by academicians and authorities in their fields, sharing the basic concepts of volunteering and valuable field experiences.

Technological Material Support to Schools

At Turkish Airlines, we distribute the desktops, laptops and printers that are replaced in technological update processes to schools within the scope of sustainable resource management.

Teknofest

Contributing to the National Technology Movement as a flag carrier airline, we offer comprehensive support in transportation through cooperations with the T3 Foundation and the Teknofest event.

Aviation Training for Gifted Children

Our Aviation Education for Children program is offered to gifted children enrolled in the Istanbul Science and Art Centers (BİLSEM), which are affiliated with the Ministry of National Education (MEB). The program is also available to children aged 8–12 who lack equal opportunities to participate in education due to circumstances such as poverty or being disabled or orphaned.

Each month, children experience the thrill of aviation in specially organized classes, using real simulators, learning technical concepts, and gaining a foundational understanding of aviation in a fun and engaging way.

The Mobile Newton Room

An exciting aviation experience and a quality STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) experience have been offered to elementary, middle school, high school, and university students in disadvantaged regions since 2024, in collaboration with FIRST Scandinavia, Boeing, and Turkish Airlines, using flight simulators and modern equipment. Inspiring experiences will be offered by this special workshop throughout 2025-2026. Our engaging project video can be watched here.

Human beings

In cooperation with local and international NGOs, we provide transportation support to field organizations for many humanitarian activities.

During the pandemic, we transported vaccines and tons of personal protective equipment.

We are the first airline to hold three CEIV certificates for the transportation of health products, live animals and perishable products.

Kızılay (Red Crescent)

We support the Red Crescent as its official transportation sponsor for the transport of blood and blood products, aid, and medical supplies; we contribute to the “healthy and quality life” principle outlined in the SDG guidelines; and we support social solidarity.

KidZania

In line with our Corporate Social Responsibility strategy, we support underprivileged children in spending a day at KidZania every month. Through this special event, we offer children the opportunity to have fun while envisioning new dreams for the future. At KidZania, kids can explore careers that develop their motor, physical, and social skills; gain the freedom to make choices; and use their creativity.

Sport for One Humanity

Within the framework of the cooperation with the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations, we supported capacity building trainings for non-governmental organizations operating in the field of sports, development and conflict resolution around the world.
