As Turkish Airlines, we offer various check-in options. According to your preference, you can check-in via our website or mobile app, through our kiosks at the airport, or at the check-in counters. It is recommended that you arrive at the airport 2 hours before departure for domestic flights and 3 hours before departure for international flights to ensure that you have enough time for baggage and security processes.

Online check-in

By checking-in via the Turkish Airlines mobile application or website, you can save time by making your own seat selection. You can also proceed to the boarding gate without waiting in line, and benefit from the convenience of a mobile boarding pass.

You can check in quickly and easily via our kiosks at the airport, without waiting in line at the counter. Since your boarding pass is printed at the kiosks, you can proceed directly to the boarding gate if you do not need to check baggage. If you have baggage to check, you can deliver it to the baggage counter and then proceed to the boarding gate.

You can complete baggage and flight check-in procedures by presenting your identity card (driver’s license, marriage certificate), passport and special status documents (health report, discount, etc.) to our counter personnel.

When can I check in at the counter?

Counter check-in closes 45 minutes before departure for domestic flights and 60 minutes before departure for international flights. This time may vary at some stations (e.g., 120 minutes before flights from Caracas).

When you fly with an airline other than Turkish Airlines, some additional fees (boarding pass printing fee, etc.) may be incurred. You can check the website of the airline in question for more information.

* On our codeshare flights operated by Ukraine International Airlines, there is a charge for a boarding pass at the counter; you can check in online via the relevant airline’s website to benefit from this service free of charge.

Purchased standard seats can be replaced once in the the 6 hours to 90 minutes flight range. Emergency exit, extra legroom and basinet seats are not interchangable.

Paid/free of charge seat selection is not available after the boarding pass has been printed.

*Miles&Smiles Elite/Elite Plus members and passengers travelling with the same reservation code (PNR), only on Turkish Airlines flights, have the right to choose the standard seat they wish.

**Domestic and international tickets and award tickets without a package are considered within the scope of the EcoFly package for seat selection, purchase rights and online check-in procedures.

Check-in counters at Caracas Airport close two hours before flight time. Even if you checked in online or via your mobile device and don't have luggage, you must go to the check-in counter in person before closing time.

Check in counters at Lagos station close 2 hours before the flight time. Even if you have completed online check-in via our website or your mobile device, you must drop-off your baggage before the closing time of the check in counters. For this reason, passengers traveling from Lagos should be at the counters 4 hours vefore the flight time, taking into account the waiting time at the counter.

Preferential check-in with Business Class

If you have chosen to travel in Business Class, you can enjoy extra privileges during check-in. You can avoid the lines and gain time by checking in at one of our special Business Class desks at the airport.
