Introducing Brussels

Any tour of Brussels will always begin at Grand Place (Grote Markt), the central square of the city, with its lively atmosphere and colorful architecture. The city's architecture in general is heavily influenced by the elegant lines of the Art Nouveau movement, which makes visiting the museums, palaces and galleries a real treat. The Mini-Europe amusement park is one of the European Union’s most enjoyable venues, where you can get lost in Gulliver's travels and experience the magic of his adventures. If you want to see the city from up high, the Atomium has become one of the icons of the city as host to world fairs and other events, and its top floor is a great spot to gaze out from. The Basilica of the Sacred Heart has an observation deck gallery as well, and is known for its impressive views. Of course, when you go to Belgium, be sure to try some of the country’s most famous dishes, like waffles, chocolate, mussels and French fries with mayonnaise.
