Flight Disruptions

As the Turkish Airlines family, we want to get you to your destination on time. Our priority is to provide you with a safe, fast and enjoyable journey. However, the dates and times of flights may change, or flights may be cancelled due to operational reasons. As well, there may be extraordinary situations at the departure or arrival point. We work diligently to resolve such cases and strive to improve your travel experience.

Schedule change

  • A schedule change is a change in the date, time or flight number of your flight due to operational reasons. In such cases:
  • You can easily and quickly perform transactions in the “Manage Booking” section of the website and mobile app.
  • You can approve the new proposed flight caused by a change in schedule.
  • If the new flight date or route is not suitable for your plans, you can change to a different flight, free of charge, under certain rules.
  • If necessary, you can cancel your ticket and obtain a refund. (For the cancellation of partially used international flight tickets, the refund amount is calculated under the international fare rules.)
  • You can visit the Passenger Rights page for information on your rights in case of schedule change.

Flight cancellations

  • You can easily and quickly perform transactions in the “Manage Booking” section of the website and mobile application.
  • If your flight has been canceled, you can change to another flight under certain rules.
  • If you do not wish to change your flight to another flight, you may request a full refund under certain rules. (For the cancellation of partially used international tickets, the refund amount is calculated under the international fare rules.)
  • You can visit the Passenger Rights page for information on your rights in case of schedule change.

Extraordinary Circumstances

  • Extraordinary Circumstances include the occurrence of pandemics/epidemics or diseases that are deemed an emergency and/or meteorological conditions or natural disasters that could endanger the safety of passengers. In such cases;
  • You can easily and quickly perform transactions in the “Manage Booking” section of the website and mobile app.
  • For our passengers who experience flight disruptions due to extraordinary circumstances, we provide the option of changing to a different flight* under certain rules.
  • We provide ease of refund** for passengers who do not wish to change their flight under certain fare rules. (For the cancellation of partially used international flight tickets, the refund amount is calculated under the international fare rules.)

*Changes made within the scope of an extraordinary circumstance may result in fare differences.

**For cancellations made under an extraordinary circumstance, the entire ticket fee may not be refunded.

Delays

  • A delay indicates that aircraft will depart or arrive later than the scheduled departure and landing times.
  • You can change your flight within the rules determined according to the delay time.
  • You may cancel your flight and obtain a refund within the rules determined according to the delay time.
  • You may benefit from additional services offered to you within the rules determined according to the delay time.
  • You can perform your transactions through our call center and sales offices.

In the event of a flight disruption, we will notify you via SMS and email if we have your contact information. For changes or refunds, we provide options via our website and mobile application. We recommend that you add your mobile phone number and email address to your membership information to be notified in case of flight disruptions. If you are not a member, please update your personal information for the related flight in the manage booking area on our website and mobile app.

For award tickets, you can submit a refund request via our web and mobile app. Changes to flights can be made via our website within the framework of certain rules. You can also perform these transactions by calling our call center and contacting our sales offices.
