Fees for carrying pets on domestic flights

If the pet and its crate weigh 8 kg or less, they are carried in the cabin and those weighing more than 8 kg are carried in the aircraft hold. A fixed fee will be charged based on the total weight of the pet and its crate. Passengers are charged TRY 120 for 8 kg or less; TRY 2000 for between 0-15 kg; TRY 250 for between 16-22 kg; TRY 300 TRY for between 23-28 kg and TRY 350 for 28 kg and above.

Fees under the baggage weight concept (Fees for carrying pets in the flight cabin)

Carriage of pets is not included in free baggage allowance and is subject to fees. When weighed together with the crate to be carried in the cabin, it should not be more than 8 kg. 

The pet is weighed with its crate, regardless of the passenger's free baggage allowance. The pet fee is calculated by multiplying the price per kg according to the table below, which applies to the route along with the weight. 

The excess baggage fee is charged per box or crate. For example: If a passenger traveling from Istanbul to Frankfurt has two cats in one crate (container), the container is weighed with the two cats. If the total weight (crate and cats) does not exceed 8 kg, the passenger is charged by multiplying the pet fee per kg according to the table below.

Fees for carrying pets in the aircraft hold (Kg concept/AVIH):

Carriage of pets is not included in free baggage allowance and is subject to fees. When weighed together with the crate, it should be more than 8 kg. 

Pigeons and parrots belonging to passengers are carried as AVIH in the aircraft hold. Other small bird breeds, other than the phoenix, budgies and canaries, are transported through the cargo unit. The pet is weighed with its crate, regardless of the passenger's free baggage allowance. 

The pet fee is calculated by multiplying the price per kg according to the table below, which applies to the route along with the weight. 

The excess baggage fee is charged per box or crate. For example: If a passenger traveling from Istanbul to Frankfurt has two cats in one crate (container), the container is weighed with the two cats. If the total weight (crate and cats) exceeds 8 kg, the passenger is charged by multiplying the pet fee per kg according to the table below.

Fees for carrying pets on connecting flights (Kg concept)

The pet is weighed with its crate for connecting flights. If the total weight (crate and pet) is less than 8 kg, the pet is carried in the cabin. If the total weight (crate and pet) exceeds 8 kg, it is carried in the aircraft hold. 

If carried in the cabin, the pet fee is calculated by multiplying the price per kg according to the table below, which applies to the route along with the weight.

For example, if a pet is to be transported from Cibuti to Mogadishu, the pet fee is calculated by multiplying the price per kg listed as 8 Euros for Cibuti to Mogadishu if the total weight (crate and pet) is less than 8 kg and the pet is carried in the cabin. If the total weight (crate and pet) exceeds 8 kg, it is carried in the aircraft hold and the pet fee is calculated by multiplying the price per kg listed as 16 Euros for Cibuti to Mogadishu

When weighed together with the crate, the weight should be less than 8 kg to be carried in the cabin. 

To carry the pet in the cabin, the pet fee is charged according to the table below, which applies to the route along with the weight. 

The excess baggage fee is charged per box or crate. For example: If a passenger traveling from Istanbul to New York has two cats in one crate (container), the container is weighed with the two cats and the passenger is charged per crate (container).

Fees for carrying pets on routes with stopovers (PC concept)

The pet is weighed with its crate for connecting flights. If the total weight (crate and pet) is less than 8 kg, the pet is carried in the cabin. If the total weight (crate and cats) exceeds 8 kg, it is carried in the aircraft hold. 

In the PC concept, a pet fee of USD 160 per crate will be charged if carried in the cabin and USD 320 will be charged if carried in the aircraft hold. For example: If a passenger traveling from Sao Paulo to Buenos Aires has a pet, the container is weighed with the pet and the passenger is charged per crate (container). A pet fee of USD 160 per crate will be charged if carried in the cabin and USD 320 will be charged if carried in the aircraft hold.

Fees for carrying pets on routes with stopovers (PC concept)

The pet is weighed with its crate. If the total weight (crate and pet) is less than 8 kg, the pet is carried in the cabin. 

If there is a stopover, the fee is first calculated until the stopover, and from the stopover to the arrival point and the fees are added up. When calculating separately, each calculation is made according to its concept (kg/pc). The fees should be collected according to the PETC tables.

The pet is weighed with its crate. If the total weight (crate and pet) is more than 8 kg, the pet is carried in the aircraft hold. 

If there is a stopover, the fee is first calculated until the stopover, and from the stopover to the arrival point, and the fees are added up. When calculating separately, each calculation is made according to its concept (kg/pc). The fees should be collected according to the AVIH tables.

Accepting pets on flights to/from Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus

In order to carry pets on flights to/from the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, you must obtain an import license from the TRNC Veterinary Office. The validity of this license is 60 days. You must also obtain a travel health certificate from the veterinary directorate of your country at least 48 hours before departure.

You must carry your cat's or dog's passport showing the vaccinations. Dogs must have received vaccinations for Parvo, Distemper, Hepatitis and Leptospira; cats must have received vaccinations for Feline Infectious Enteritis and Feline Influenza. The pet must have been vaccinated against rabies at least one month prior and no more than one year before the flight. You must also carry the original lab report showing your pet’s levels of blood antibodies against rabies in order to travel with your cat or dog. We do not carry pets younger than three months alone on our TRNC flights. We can carry pets aged over two months on the condition that they travel with their mother, have a passport, have stayed in the same location since birth, and have not come into contact with any wild animals which might have transferred an infection.
