Amid the climate crisis posing significant challenges to the aviation sector, Turkish Airlines stands out for its voluntary carbon offsetting platform CO2mission, the use of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), implementation of in-flight sustainable products, waste management practices, and the sustainable travel experience provided to its passengers.

Since 2008, Turkish Airlines has undertaken over 100 operational optimization projects to reduce its carbon footprint. In 2022 alone, it achieved a fuel savings of 57,581 tons, mitigating 181,379 tons of greenhouse gas emissions.

As a result of our compliance with Health Safety Standards and our rigorous hygiene measures, we were assessed at Diamond Standard – the highest level possible – by the APEX/SimpliFlying partnership. Fewer than 10 airlines achieved Diamond-level standards.
With the new airport’s customer touch points (lounges, check-in islands, ticket service offices, etc.) and with in- flight experience designs (new Business and Economy Class cabin design and in-flight products), we were selected as the “Best Designed Airline Europe 2021” at the TheDesignAir awards, which recognize creativity and innovation.
Fast Company magazine, together with Turkcell Global Bilgi, launched a customer experience survey in 2020. With a total of 6,319 people participating in the survey and with 15,130 brands discussed, the best of the sector in each sector is selected. In our field, we once again ranked first in this survey.
Airline assessments for 2020 were announced by APEX (Airline Passenger Experience Association) at the awards ceremony held in Los Angeles on September 9, 2019. Turkish Airlines was rated a “Five Star Global Airline” by APEX, the third consecutive year that we have received this designation. The ratings are determined solely through passenger feedback submitted through the TripIt application. The 2020 ratings included passenger feedback from more than one million flights on nearly 600 airlines worldwide between July 2018 and June 2019. Numerous people avidly followed the flight via Flightradar24, the live air traffic site with flight tracking data. As well, the flight garnered wide press coverage and high engagement across all social media platforms; updates were shared by hundreds of thousands of social media users and the flight was a globally trending topic on Twitter.

The Turkish Airlines TK1919 Historical Journey was recognized with the 11th Term Champion award in the Instachamp competition, held in partnership with MediaCat and Instagram Türkiye. In this competition, the marketing communication performance of advertisements on Instagram at certain date intervals is evaluated and rewarded.

The winners of the 2017 LIMA International Licensing Awards were announced at the Licensing Expo's opening night in Las Vegas on May 23. At the event, where 125 out of 461 exhibitors from 10 countries were nominated, LIMA President Charles Riotto described this year's winners as “first-class licensing programs and products from the global industry”. We were also deemed worthy of the "Best License Promotion" award for our ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ movie promotion, a collaboration with Warner Bros.
Turkish Airlines won a gold award in the Product and Product Placement category at Epica, one of the most important advertising competitions in the world, with our 'Batman v. Superman' ad campaign. In the ‘Superman’ advertising campaign, we showed up as a real airline company in the universe of superheroes. The campaign reached 30 million YouTube viewers in addition to 125 million views worldwide.
