Turkish Airlines might not be able to take you underwater, but we can help you open the gates to the magical world beneath the waves by carrying your scuba diving equipment for you wherever your destination is.

Carrying diving equipment on flights

Diving equipment consists of diving suit, buoyancy vest (BC), mask, fins, underwater flashlight, knife, snorkel, harpoon, diving socks, diving cylinder and regulator. 

  • Diving cylinders shall be empty. The meter shall read zero. 
  • The air in buoyancy vest shall be emptied. 
  • Equipment such as underwater flashlight (diving lamp) and soldering iron can be carried as hand baggage or checked baggage. In order to prevent an unexpected situation during flight, the heat generating section or power source of the equipment shall be separated, and packaged to restrict activation. The removed batteries shall be protected against short circuit. 
  • The harpoon shall not be set and its tips shall be packed separately. 
  • It as accepted with their special cases or as appropriately packaged. 
  • Diving equipment transportation service is charged for domestic flights and we carry your 1 diving equipment for 300 TRY.
  • Special baggage fee is applied in international flights. 
  • It is mandatory to make reservation entry. 
  • As some aircraft types in our fleet are not suitable for carrying the cargo of these sizes, do not forget to inform the related personnel during reservation. Equipment not in the appropriate sizes are carried on cargo flights.

Applicable until December 31, 2023 (inclusive): On all flights departing from Italy and arriving to Miami (MIA), Havana (HAV), Maldives (MLE), Cape Town (CPT), Bangkok (BKK), and Zanzibar (ZNZ) and on all return flights from these destinations, your ticket's checked baggage allowance includes one set of diving equipment. Special fees are applicable for each additional set of diving equipment.

A fee of EUR 30 for sports equipment will be charged for flights such as from/to Maldives (MLE) – Colombo (CMB) with a stopover and with the fifth freedom traffic rights.

Diving equipment may consist of: Wetsuit, flippers, 1 mask, 1 empty scuba tank (oxygen tank), scuba regulator, harness, tank pressure gauge, BCD jacket, dive light, 1 snorkel, knife, harpoon and 1 life jacket.

Applicable until December 31, 2023 (inclusive): On all network departure flights arriving to Manila and Cebu and on all return flights from these destinations, you may carry one set of diving equipment free of charge. Special fees are applicable for each additional set of diving equipment.

A fee of EUR 30 for sports equipment will be charged for flights such as from/to Maldives (MLE) – Colombo (CMB) with a stopover and with the fifth freedom traffic rights.

Diving equipment may consist of: Wetsuit, flippers, 1 mask, 1 empty scuba tank (oxygen tank), scuba regulator, harness, tank pressure gauge, BCD jacket, dive light, 1 snorkel, knife, harpoon and 1 life jacket.

Applicable until December 31, 2023 (inclusive): On all network departure flights arriving to Hurghada (HRG) and Sharm El Sheikh (SSH) and on all return flights from these destinations, your ticket's checked baggage allowance includes one set of diving equipment. If checked baggage allowance is exceeded special fees are applied.

A fee of EUR 30 for sports equipment will be charged for flights such as from/to Maldives (MLE) – Colombo (CMB) with a stopover and with the fifth freedom traffic rights.

Diving equipment may consist of: Wetsuit, flippers, 1 mask, 1 empty scuba tank (oxygen tank), scuba regulator, harness, tank pressure gauge, BCD jacket, dive light, 1 snorkel, knife, harpoon and 1 life jacket.

Applicable until December 31, 2023 (inclusive): On all flights departing from Oslo and arriving to Sharm el-Sheikh, Hurghada, Maldives, Cape Town, Mauritius, Manila, Johannesburg, Durban, Dar es Salaam, Maputo, Muscat, Jakarta, Bangkok, Phuket, Seychelles, Zanzibar, Tel Aviv, Kuala Lumpur, Havana, Denpasar, Colombo, Antananarivo, Aqaba, Cebu, Mexico City ,Cancun, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh and on all return flights from these destinations, your ticket's checked baggage allowance includes one set of diving equipment. Special fees are applicable for each additional set of diving equipment.

A fee of EUR 30 for sports equipment will be charged for flights such as from/to Male (MLE) - Colombo (CMB) with a stopover. Diving equipment may consist of: Wetsuit, flippers, 1 mask, 1 empty scuba tank (oxygen tank), scuba regulator, harness, tank pressure gauge, BCD jacket, dive light, 1 snorkel, knife, harpoon and 1 life jacket

Applicable until December 31, 2023 (inclusive): On all flights departing from Türkiye, Germany, Spain, France, Italy, and arriving to Aqaba and on all return flights from these destinations, your ticket's checked baggage allowance includes one set of diving equipment. Special fees are applicable for each additional set of diving equipment.

Diving equipment may consist of: Wetsuit, flippers, 1 mask, 1 empty scuba tank (oxygen tank), scuba regulator, harness, tank pressure gauge, BCD jacket, dive light, 1 snorkel, knife, harpoon and 1 life jacket

Applicable until December 31, 2023 (inclusive): On all flights departing from Austria and arriving to Colombo, Denpasar, Hanoi, Hurghada, Kuala Lumpur, Maldives, Mauritius, Aqaba and on all return flights from these destinations, your ticket's checked baggage allowance includes one set of diving equipment. Special fees are applicable for each additional set of diving equipment.

A fee of EUR 30 for sports equipment will be charged for flights such as from/to Male (MLE) – Colombo (CMB) with a stopover.
