You can carry your surf board in our flights to experience breathtaking moments on waves.

Carrying surfboards on flights

Surfboard’s maximum length shall be 292 cm (115 inches) and width shall be 60 cm (24 inches). 

  • Surfboard transportation service is charged for domestic flights and we carry your 1 surfboard for 300 TRY.
  • Special baggage feeis applied in international flights.
  • The surf board shall be packaged with its nose and tail covered with bubble wrap or foam plus the sides supported to soften blows in a way to prevent damage and carried in its special bag. 
  • It is mandatory to make reservation entry. 
  • As some aircraft types in our fleet are not suitable for carrying the cargo of these sizes, do not forget to inform the related personnel during reservation. Your equipment not having the appropriate sizes can be carried on cargo flights.

Applicable from July 11, 2023 to December 31, 2023 (inclusive): On all flights departing from Sao Paulo (SAO) and arriving to Cape Town ( CPT), İstanbul (IST), and Colombo(CMB), and on return flights from these destinations, your ticket's checked baggage allowance includes one surfboard. Special fees will be applicable for the second or more sets of surf board equipment.

Applicable until December 31, 2023 (inclusive): On all flights departing from France and arriving to Male (MLE), and on return flights from the destination, your ticket's checked baggage allowance includes one surfboard. Special fees are applied for each additional surfboard.

A fee of EUR 30 for sports equipment will be charged for flights such as from/to Maldives (MLE) – Colombo (CMB) with a stopover and with the fifth freedom traffic rights. 

Surfing equipment: One surfboard up to a maximum length of 2 meters

Applicable from June 01, 2023 to December 31, 2023 (inclusive): On all flights departing from Malaga (AGP) and arriving to Maldives (MLE), Phuket (HKT), Denpasar (DPS), and Colombo (CMB), and on return flights from these destinations, your ticket's checked baggage allowance includes one surfboard. Special fees will be applicable for the second or more surfboards.

Surfing equipment: One surfboard up to a maximum length of 2 meters

A fee of EUR 30 for sports equipment will be charged for flights such as from/to Maldives (MLE) – Colombo (CMB) with a stopover and with the fifth freedom traffic rights.

On all network departure flights arriving to Manila and Cebu and on all return flights from these destinations, you may carry one set of kitesurfing equipment free of charge until December 31, 2023 (inclusive). Special fees will be applicable for the second or more sets of kitesurfing equipment.

A fee of EUR 30 for sports equipment will be charged for flights such as from/to Maldives (MLE) – Colombo (CMB) with a stopover and with the fifth freedom traffic rights.

Applicable from June 01, 2023 to December 31, 2023 (inclusive): On all flights departing from Malaga (AGP) and arriving to Singapore (SIN), Kuala Lumpur (KUL), Jakarta (CGK), Bangkok (BKK), and Male (MLE), and on return flights from these destinations, your ticket's checked baggage allowance includes one surfboard. Special fees will be applicable for the second or more sets of surf board equipment.

A fee of EUR 30 for sports equipment will be charged for flights such as from/to Maldives (MLE) – Colombo (CMB) with a stopover and with the fifth freedom traffic rights.

Applicable until December 31, 2023: On all flights departing from Tel Aviv (TLV) to Colombo (CMB), Male (MLE), Bilboa (BIO), Los Angeles (LAX) and Denpasar (DPS) and on return flights from these destinations, your ticket's checked baggage allowance includes one set of surfing equipment. Special fees are applied for each additional surfboard.

A fee of EUR 30 for sports equipment will be charged for flights such as from/to Male (MLE) – Colombo (CMB) with a stopover and with the fifth freedom traffic rights. Items included in a set of surf equipment: one surfboard (max 200cm).

Applicable until December 31, 2023: On all flights departing from Bilbao (BIO) to Male (MLE) Manila ( MNL) and on return flights from these destinations; one surfboard up to a maximum length of 2 meters will be included in your ticket's checked baggage allowance. Special fees are applied for each additional set of surfing equipment or if the transit time at Türkiye exceeds 24 hours.

On all flights departing from Lisbon (LIS), Porto (OPO) and arriving to Male (MLE) and Tel Aviv (TLV), and on return flights from these destinations, one surfboard up to a maximum length of 2 meters will be transported free of charge until 31 December 2023. Special fees are applicable for each additional surfboard.

A fee of EUR 30 for sports equipment will be charged for flights from/to Maldives - Colombo with a stopover.

Applicable until December 31, 2023: On all network flights arriving in Denpasar (DPS) and Jakarta (JKT) and on return flights from these destinations (Interline flights are not included. The offer is valid for Turkish Airlines flights), your ticket's checked baggage allowance includes one surfboard up to a maximum length of 2 meters. Special fees will be applicable for each additional surfboard.

A fee of EUR 30 for sports equipment will be charged for flights such as from/to Male (MLE) – Colombo (CMB) with a stopover and with the fifth traffic rights.
